Our breeding goal

First of all, our breeding station is our hobby and it is not our living as it is in many cases throughout the world. This has its advantages and its disadvantages. Because of our medical profession, we have both close to genetics and obstetrics, which are often very important for our breeding purposes. It is necessary to get and to use as much as possible available information in order to deal with problems of dysplasia, obstetric problems, short term life and other problems that are common for Bernese mountain dog breed. We think that the book written by Hellmuth Wachtl “ Breeding dogs in year 2000 ” could be the right trend even despite of being criticized by many breeders. It is necessary to use together unrelated breeding individuals even if it means to travel long distances to different countries. It is especially because Bernese mountain dogs have been bred for around 100 years and its origin comes from only few individuals.

This is only our hobby and we are unable to have too many Bernese mountain dogs and that I why we are trying to select only quality dogs. We think that 6 quality breeding dogs are good enough for our station and that enables us to have more individual approach to every one of them.
